2017 ISSA/Interclean Tradeshow Wrap-Up

Written by

This year, the ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America Tradeshow and the ISSA Convention succeeded at being the place where key cleaning industry leaders and members gathered for new information, new opportunities and new connections.

According to an ISSA press release, 757 exhibitors were present. Out of those, 142 were new and 18 percent were from outside the U.S., bringing in people from 24 countries.

Despite the challenges some attendees faced due to hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the event was able to thrive both for business and for charity as attendees and exhibitors donated to causes dedicated to helping those affected by the hurricane.

The event took place in Las Vegas from Sept. 11 through 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and was co-produced by ISSA and RAI Amsterdam, according to the release.

This year, over 16,000 registered visitors from across the globe attended. The event saw a 15 percent increase in the number of distributor companies present, an 11 percent increase in the attendance of BSCs and a 22 percent increase in house service provider organizations, the release said.

The tradeshow featured both an expanded floor show and outdoor exhibits that showcased the latest advances in the cleaning industry, including: smart technology, robotics, U.V. light, self-cleaning surfaces (photocatalytics), infection control techniques, floor and carpet care, powered cleaning equipment and accessories and cleaning agents, supply chemicals and disinfectants.

Over 60 education seminars, training and certification workshops were also featured at ISSA/ INTERCLEAN 2017 as part of the ISSA Convention, the educational sect of the convention.

ISSA’s co-located event, EPIC 2017, presented by TriMega and Independent Stationers, took place from Sept. 10 through 12 alongside ISSA/ INTERCLEAN North America.

EPIC, the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) Annual Convention, the Cleaning Equipment Trade Association (CETA) Annual Convention and the IEHA Annual Convention filled out the roster for the co-located events, according to the press release.

Overall, the 2017 ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America exhibition was a wild success. Pre-registration has begun for the 2018 ISSA/ INTERCLEAN North America Trade Show and ISSA Convention, which will take place from Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 in Dallas.
