NLRB Takes Aim at Your Handbook’s “At-Will” Clause

The NLRB has taken issue with some “at-will” clauses recently. Though they are standard features of employee handbooks, you may need to examine yours more carefully in light of recent rulings. The rulings in question were deemed to be overly broad and capable of being construed as an agreement on the part of the employee not to engage in organizing activities. The easiest fix is likely to include an acknowledgment in your handbook of your employees’ right to organize.
