House Bill 3279 was passed by the Oregon House of Representatives to protect janitorial subcontractors in Oregon from wage theft and sexual assault. This bill follows a similar bill passed in California in 2016.

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against Diversified Maintenance System, LLC., for having an “ongoing pattern” of denying African-American applicants employment based on their race, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
